A Grassroots Leader Dedicated to Delta State
I, Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori, was born on June 19th, 1963, to the family of Chief Samuel Oborevwori of Osubi in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State. I am a Nigerian politician currently serving as the Executive Governor of Delta State, having won the gubernatorial elections conducted on March 18th, 2023 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Early Days & Education
I completed my basic education at Alegbo Primary School, Effurun in 1977 and later attended Oghareki Grammar School, Oghareki for my secondary education. Driven by my passion for political leadership, I obtained a B.Sc. Political Science degree from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma in 2004 and subsequently an M.Sc. Political Science degree from Delta State University, Abraka in 2010.
A Unifier, not a Divider
Delta State is a multi-ethnic state that requires a consensus builder. Over my career, I have forged deep friendships and strategic contacts across the three senatorial districts of Delta State. My down-to-earth personality and accessible nature make it very easy for people to relate with me. I am at home with the rich and the poor, the educated and uneducated, the powerful and the powerless. It is largely due to this humility and the uncanny ability to carry everybody along that I had the distinguished honour of being the first lawmaker in Delta State to be consecutively elected Speaker of the State House of Assembly.
