Short History of Delta State
Delta State was created in 1991 from the southern half of the former Bendel State, with Asaba established as its administrative capital.
The state relies on rich agricultural assets and petroleum reserves, exporting petroleum, rubber, timber, palm oil, and palm kernels through regional ports.
Delta's key industrial outputs include structural steel production, glass and bottle processing factories, textiles, plywood, natural gas, boatbuilding, and furniture.
The state capital, situated on the west bank of the Niger River. It was historically a trading post for palm exports and is now a thriving hub for education and transport.
Delta's official emblem stands for peace, unity, and resourcefulness, representing the collective voice and patriotic anthem of all Deltans worldwide.
Currently serving as the Executive Governor of Delta State. Leading the MORE Agenda to promote infrastructure, economic reforms, and peace.
